DAY 01 - Get closer to Bhutan

  • On arrival in Paro, a warm welcome by our representative!
  • Stop and relish your welcome tea in the pine woods of Paro valley.
  • The tour will start with a visit to an ancient Himalayan Buddhist monastery, Kyichu Lhakhang built-in 7th Century.
  • Lunch in Paro downtown.
  • To get acclimatized, stroll along Paro downtown where you can also witness locals enjoying National game Archery, and then continue further towards the riverside to get the best view of Paro Dzong- the fortress. Feel and enjoy the most refreshing river breeze as you walk along the riverside.
  • On your way to Thimphu, en-route Tachogang Iron Bridge " the bridge of temple of the hill of the excellent horse" 
  • Check into Hotel and relax/refresh.
  • Your Tour of the day ends with the visit of  Tashichho Dzong "fortress of the glorious religion.

DAY 02 - Yoga with Panoramic View of Bhutan

  • Early morning, drive to Giant Buddha  to enjoy sunrise  Yoga with panoramic  view of  mountains and refreshing morning breeze. You may add a pleasant  walk through the woods of  Kuenselphodrang park where you can continue an out door meditation overlooking stunning Thimphu valley.
  • After breakfast,  walk to Memorial Stupa , interact  and photograph with locals  who spends most of their time praying and circumambulating. It known to be  elderly people all time favorite  place to hang around.
  • Lunch at Folkheritage Museum.
  • Later visit Gagyel Lhundrup Weaving Centre, a fascinating testimony of the Bhutanese material culture and living traditions.
  • Bhutan Post office :This Post Office is not only friendly and open with helpful staff, but also has the most amazing fabulous facility where you can get stamps made with your face on, which are legal and can be used to mail your postcards overseas. The reaction of friends and family at home when they receive mail from Bhutan with your own face on the stamp is priceless The process is quick and efficient, and very reasonably priced. ( DTS will provide postcards for free for all our guests to be posted home)
  • Visit Changangkha Temple,the oldest temple of Avalokiteshvara , the God of Compassion , and feel part of the evening prayers by the monks. 
  • Dinner in Thimphu downtown.
  • If the Sky is clear, seize an opportunity to enjoy  stargazing. Lay back and relax in your most comfortable outfit or plunge into most serene meditation. 
  • While driving back to Hotel, stop and  get the best picture of the night view of Majestic  illuminated night  view of Thimphu fortress/Dzong.

DAY 03 - Stay Connected to the Nature

  • At SpiritQuest, head for both forest bathing and physical activitiy for over all wellbeing. The 30 minutes  from Thimphu would lead you to  explore an unexplored holy cave called Domtshang Ngye. This sacred cave was founded in around 747 AD where Guru Rimpochhe, and is as holy as Tigers Nest.  Meditate and butter lamp in the cave
  • Private Picnic lunch will be set by the riverside.
  • To get more connected to nature, the evening drive to base of famous Tango Cheri Monastery base where you get to enjoy most greenery part of Thimphu with crystal clear running river.  Feel free to have your own Yoga session and meditation at your own pace  followed by a wellness tea!
  • On your way back, you may choose to walk into one of the most beautiful Tara temple built by current Kings queen mother- the Heaven of Tara.
  • In the evening, join locals at a yoga studio if preferred.

Day 04 - Elevate yourself with Meditation

  • After a relaxing breakfast, leave for Paro.
  • Little before approaching Paro, drive uphill through Shaba valley where the road leads to one of the scared and still least unexplored places in Bhutan where Guru Rinpoche who brought Buddhism to Tibet and Bhutan is said to have meditated in the 8th century. An important pilgrimage site for locals. The rock has a breathtaking view of  Paro valley where you feel as though you are on top of the world. Interestingly, the famous actor Jetli commends Dra-karpo as one of his best pilgrimage sites without a reservation during his recent visit to Bhutan. 
  • Its another perfect place for both open and indoor meditation & yoga.
  • Lunch in Paro downtown.
  • After lunch, take a short walk to stupa-like temple Dumtse Lhakhang built-in 1421. Meditate on the darkness focusing on a single butter lamp in the uppermost room of the temple.
  • Village walk: Enjoy our hand-picked leisurely walk through beguiling village through an endless stretch of terraced field and pine woods while discovering the authentic Bhutanese way of life.
  • In the evening, along with a Buddhist meditation master, drive to a private temple where the place offers both indoor and outdoor spot for guided meditation.  
  • Drive back to Hotel for dinner after a relaxing evening.

Day 05 - Dress in Bhutanese National Dress

  • Private Picnic lunch will be set up at a scenic point.
  •  After breakfast, drive for one and a half hours to Chelela Pass, the highest point reached by road in Bhutan. Chelela is known for its spectacular natural beauty and has hundreds of species of alpine flowers and rare and exotic birds like the Himalayan Monal, Khalij Pheasant and Satyr Tragopan. From Chelela, one can also see snow-clad Mt. Jhomolhari (7,300m), the abode of Goddess. 
  • In the midst of scenic road trip, nothing beats a most rewarding forest walk. Get a complete Soak into the forest  with chirping sounds of birds as natures peace flows into you.
  • In the evening around sunset time, visit Bhutan National Museum, Bhutan's one and only museum houses the ancient treasures of the Kingdom. These artefacts represent Bhutanese culture and values and are the source of the Bhutanese identity. Nothing introduces Bhutan better to the outside. It is also the best spot to enjoy the sunset overlooking Paro river valley.
  • Grab some of your favourite Organic produce from the Exotic Farmers vegetable market as you stroll around the domestic weekend market for the farmers. It's one of the popular spots for the tourists and a recreational place for people from all walks of life displaying a wide assortment of fresh, organic produce and artisanal foods.
  • Be a Local: Dresse in Bhutanese National Dress, experience an authentic farm stay at a farmhouse in Paro. You will be overjoyed with hands-on experiences where you can learn how to cook Bhutanese traditional dish made out of Bhutanese all-time favourite chillies and cheese called where you can harvest from the farmers garden. Savour farmhouses typical local dinner.

Day 06 Paro - Hike to Tigers Nest (Elevation of Taktshang 3,120 m )

  • With an early start, we will undertake a three-hour hike to Taktshang ( Tigers lair), the most famous temple in the Himlayan Buddhist world Taktshang Monastery (The Tigers Nest)
  • For spiritual connection, interested ones can hoist prayer flags (Prayer flags are combination of mantras and prayers for the happiness and good fortune among all living beings. The prayer  flags in  five different colors fluttering in the wind  symbolize five different elements- blue stands for wind element. The white flag symbolizes air, and the red  flag stands for fire. The green and yellow flags symbolize water and earth)
  • Lunch will be served at Taktshang Cafeteria where you get the clear view of Tiger's Nest.
  • Optional: Once back to the base, you may opt for a relaxing Spa with hot-stone bath (additional charges apply)
  • Dinner at hotel
